Product 03 · Lubricant, emulsifier & binder

Stearic Acid

Stearic Acid — refined until the iodine value says stop — from the maker of your stearates. A naturally derived long-chain fatty acid supplied as flakes, granules or fine powder — a high-purity lubricant, emulsifier and thickener, offered in Double-Pressed and Triple-Pressed grades.

What it is

Engineered, not off-the-shelf

Stearic Acid is an 18-carbon saturated fatty acid — a lubricant, emulsifier and binder relied on across the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetics & personal care, food, and polymer & industrial sectors. Its quality is judged mainly by iodine value (IV): the lower the IV, the less unsaturation, and the better the colour, oxidative stability and shelf life. We derive ours from vegetable/palm feedstock — Halal and Kosher, no tallow — and offer it in the two grades that matter.

Double-Pressed vs Triple-Pressed

Double-Pressed (DP) — iodine value < 4. A high-purity general-purpose grade for lubrication, emulsification and industrial use.

Triple-Pressed (TP) — iodine value < 0.5. Exceptionally low unsaturation: no rancid odour, no yellowing, long shelf life — the stability of a premium European grade.

Both supplied at ≥98.5% purity (to 99%), profiled on every lot for acid and iodine value before release.

Key applications

  • Tablet manufacturing — lubricant & release agent
  • Creams & ointments — emulsion stabiliser, smooth texture
  • Cosmetics — primary emulsifier for lotions, soaps, creams
  • Plastics — lubricates & stabilises polymers
  • Rubber — activator in the vulcanisation process

FAQs

Stearic Acid — common questions

What's the difference between Double- and Triple-Pressed Stearic Acid?
Iodine value: DP is < 4, TP is < 0.5. Lower IV means better colour, oxidative stability and shelf life — TP is the premium pharma/cosmetic grade.
Is your Stearic Acid vegetable-derived?
Yes — 100% vegetable/palm, Halal and Kosher, no tallow.
What forms do you supply?
Flake, granule and powder.
What purity do you offer?
≥ 98.5%, up to 99%, GC-profiled on every lot.
Which pharmacopoeias is it certified to?
IP 2026, BP 2025, USP 47, EP 11, JP 18, plus FCC (E570).
