Magnesium Stearate

Magnesium Stearate — lower addition rates, smoother tabletting, labels you can defend. The tablet lubricant most formulations start with, manufactured from vegetable (palm) Stearic Acid with precisely controlled particle size and surface area, engineered to 20 m²/g so you use less and press faster.

What it is

Engineered, not off-the-shelf

Magnesium Stearate is a fine, hydrophobic powder — the magnesium salt of Stearic Acid — and the most widely used tablet lubricant in the world. Its job is to keep powder blends flowing and stop tablets sticking to punches and dies during compression. But not all Magnesium Stearate performs equally: lubrication efficiency is governed by specific surface area, and purity by the heavy-metal and lead profile. Ours is manufactured from vegetable/palm Stearic Acid — Halal and Kosher certified, no bovine or tallow risk — and no batch leaves the plant until it has passed its specification, CoA attached.

Named grades — specify by name

  • WLSPL-MS TAB — for tablets, surface area to 20 m²/g for maximum lubrication efficiency.
  • WLSPL-MS INHALE — for inhalation, with extra fatty-acid profile, particle-size and microbial testing.
  • WLSPL-MS SOL — water-dispersible for soluble drug formulations.

Key applications

  • Tablet lubricant — prevents sticking to punches & dies; extends tooling life
  • Glidant / flow agent — uniform die-fill, lower batch variation
  • Anti-adherent — consistent mixing and compression
  • Nutraceuticals — smooth compression of multivitamin tablets
  • Cosmetics & food (E572) — anti-caking, silky texture, binding

FAQs

Magnesium Stearate — common questions

Is your Magnesium Stearate vegetable or animal-derived?
100% vegetable/palm, Halal and Kosher certified, with no bovine or tallow risk — documented with a Statement of Origin.
What surface area can you supply?
8–20 m²/g, with our WLSPL-MS TAB grade engineered to 20 m²/g for lubrication efficiency.
Do you have a low-lead grade?
Lead is < 3 ppm as standard — well inside pharmacopoeial limits — verified in-house by AAS.
Which pharmacopoeias is it certified to?
IP 2026, BP 2025, USP 47, EP 11, JP 18, plus FCC (E572).
Do you supply inhalation-grade Magnesium Stearate?
Yes — WLSPL-MS INHALE, with additional fatty-acid, PSD and microbial testing; suitability confirmed per project.
What is the minimum order?
From 1,000 kg, single-batch lots at 20 MT.
